Brianna Sweeney is the founder of Beach Cities Business Law and a trusted advisor to businesses throughout Southern California. As outside general counsel to startups, growing companies, and established organizations, Brianna works closely with her clients not just as a lawyer, but as a strategic partner—helping them navigate legal decisions with clarity, confidence, and a forward-looking perspective.

From entity formation and corporate governance to complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, employment compliance, intellectual property, and fundraising, Brianna provides practical, business-minded counsel tailored to each client’s goals. She is known for delivering thoughtful guidance that aligns legal strategy with real-world business needs—whether that means structuring a deal, managing risk, or helping a company scale.

Before founding Beach Cities Business Law, Brianna served as in-house counsel to a technology startup, where she developed a firsthand understanding of the day-to-day legal and operational challenges business owners face. She later practiced at a law firm advising employers on compliance matters, negotiating multimillion-dollar service agreements, and supporting a $3 million securities offering for a Southern California-based restaurant and hospitality group. Her legal training also includes experience in federal criminal defense, securities litigation, and FINRA arbitration, as well as assisting in a complex, eight-week trial involving more than $15 million in dispute.

Brianna earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego, with an emphasis in Business and Corporate Law, and graduated with honors from California State University, Long Beach, where she studied American and Ancient History.

A South Bay native, Brianna’s roots in the local community run deep. Before entering the legal profession, she was a competitive swimmer and coach, including serving as an assistant coach for the Peninsula High School girls’ swim team during one of its most successful seasons. That experience continues to shape her approach today—grounded in discipline, preparation, and a commitment to showing up for her clients when it matters most.
